I wonder if going to WDW parks within a few days of the end of school is a good idea? Also, need cheap motel?

Need a clean and cheap motel near WDW parks. Limited budget to work with. Suggestions appreciated. Also, dates I am looking at are June 4-8, 2008. I am hoping that a lot of schools will still be in session and parks won't be that crowded. Open to thoughts from others with summer experience.

Some schools will still be in session, so it won't be completely busy, but do expect some crowds.

The cheapest hotel closest to Disney for those dates is the Days Inn Maingate East -- $35.00 for a standard room.

There's lots of places under 50/night, so head over to http://www.resideo.com/us/florida/kissimmee/ and click the "Check Availability" button. Choose your dates, submit the form, then sort by price -- that'll put the cheapest places first.

Hope that helps...have fun!!!

This is the busy season. Most or probably all Florida schools will be out then (and even though Disney is a national attraction, a large number of people there will be from instate). Florida schools start early and end early, so end of August is a better idea than June if you live in a state where school doesn't begin until Labor Day. You can get all sorts of good deals then, including on Disney All Star hotels and Pop Century, which can be a really good deal if you are going during low season. They cost more than budget Orlando hotels, but factor in that you aren't paying for parking at the parks, and that brings it down a bit. They have excellent transportation.

Busy week, but early in Hurricane season so that is good. There is more to consider than the price of the hotel. Disney Value resorts are well priced and you then have free parking, free transportation to park and to and from the airport. You can also take advantage of the dinning plan which saves on meals.

Although its not stopping me this date is really hot and humid time to go to WDW and the parks will be quite full as the schools are still on break..

There are good bargains to be had at most budget hotels and one seems to be about the same as another. if you wanted to pay a bit more i would recommend the hawthorne suites as they have a full kitchen which saves you eating out the whole time. Not that we cooked that much lol

Hope that helps

Busy, busy, and oh yeh, busy. I wouldn't. All over the united states the busy season for vacations starts last week in may and lasts till the middle of August. I would hold out til the last week in August or the first week in Sept and miss out on the first week of school. The park is dead and, Get this, if you book on April 10th for one of these two weeks at a value resort, you will get free dining plan. It hasnt been opened to public til the tenth but if you apply tonight or tomorrow for a disney rewards card then you can get the offer now or tomorrow before they get swamped with calls and possibly sold out. This is a great deal and June is too hot and busy. You will regret it. I would just say we will catch up on school later, who cares. The value resorts are $89 a night. You can't beat that for resort hours (extra hours the public doesnt get) and free transportation to the parks, and disney resort. I wouldn't stay off the park. Too much traffic in and out and just all around too much trouble and not enough benefits for too close of a price. There is no savings there. Goodluck and have a great trip.

Not a good time to be there cos it will be packed and very hot... Sept is better and Kissimmee has the best and cheapest motels....

I will be there the week before you. I believe you are going at the begining of the busy season, but you will be OK. It will just get more crowded in the following weeks of June and July.

You should at least consider the All Star resorts to take advantage of the transportion and extra magic hours

Sweet Vacations has some great deals on Disney and Disney cruises too
