The video's sad...I thought she killed the kid first time I watched it. She just removed the cords so that the machine couldn't detect his heartbeats, not that he died. He looks like he's in a coma, because he doesn't look physically hurt.
The mother (assuming) was probably overwhelmed with the fact that her son couldn't do anything anymore (you see the flashback of him being a kid; playing on the swings, sliding down the slide) that she took away from a hospital (which is depressing enough) and tried to put him back "home".
I think there was made to be a difference in lifestyle. Before he was in a coma, he and his mother probably lived somewhere quiet (the playground suggests that). Now, with him in the hospital, the mother moves to Las Vegas into the busy world, probably for money, and lives in a "little motel".
It's hard to explain why she would just put him in the bed if he isn't going to do anything. But at the end, where you see her kinda "erasing" her infantile drawings...it shows that she wants her son to live vicariously through her, and experience life she is. She might feel guilty about how she's being able to do things when her son can't, and so in order to somewhat relieve it, she puts him in her bed, not the hospital's. That's the basis of the video...but, I feel sad thinking about it.
