there is a motel in san diego downtown called parkside inn, is a clean nice place 24 rooms, is the cheapest here, open 24 hours, In the summer time the rates are$ 79 +tax for a single room (1 king bed) $87 + tax for a double room (2 full beds) there are security cameras. close to the trolley, malls, zoo, sea world, etc. a lot of fast food around, like burger king, mc. donalds, del taco, jack in a box, etc.
right now is cheaper for a single room $69+tax and double room $79 +tax.

You don't want to stay there.
If someone offered me $100.00/night to stay there I still wouldn't do it. I hear it's just a big load house for illegal immigrant smugglers.
It's not a very good place to be honest with you unless you are a crack whore or a thug.. The very worse neighborhood in San Diego.
It's one of the few places in San Diego that I really would not feel safe at anytime of day.
Unless you have a permit to carry a weapon, if you do stay there I would lock the door and sleep with your finger on 911 because chances are you may have to use it.

The answers and reviews above are all correct. This is the former International motor Inn now it is Super 8 Knights Inn. There is an elementary school across the street and you are close to the freeway and the Mexico border.
