Can a 17 year old stay at a motel without a parent?

i want to go away for a weekend with my sister for her birthday but we are both under 18. Is it possible for us to get a room at a motel or any place even though we are not 18? Or would we be stuck sleeping in the car?

Nope

18 is the youngest age.

Hotels require you have a credit card because they want to be able to charge you if you 'party like a rockstar' and trash the place.

Generally there is not an age restriction as long as you can fork over the cash in a plastic form.

Sounds like a fun sisterly adventure get away. Maybe you can ask your parents or a friend to book it for you and you pay, if you don't have card.

Good Luck.

You will need a credit card first off.

Some places will accept if the booking is made by the parent, even if the parent does not stay.

I suggest calling around to see what the hotels in the area you are going to will accept.

You may be able to make the reservation online using a credit card (your parents maybe?) and then checking in.

**** you will be stuck in the car cause you have to be 18 to get a hotel.... and sometimes some hotels even say that you will have to be 21.

I just got a hotel with my friends bout two weeks ago when we went snowboarding. it was off the hook! way fun.

but i suggest that you ask some random person in the motel if they will get a room for you and you can give him the cash. Use your girly charm and find someone who looks chill

good luck :]]

You have to call the motel. Some motels have a rule with a 18 and up policy, but some say 21 and up, so it depends on the motel's rule.

I think you have to have a credit card to check in and to have a credit card you have to be 18....

usually no and you usually have to be 21 to book and 18 to get on when you get there...maybe smaller chains wont mind, but i havent been to one like that

NOOOOO,Your going to be stuck sleeping in a garbage can.

JK you can sleep in a hotel.

Most places, no..

I was 18.. and at the time I was in the Army. So I got hooked up.

Get a letter from your parents for authorization. That might help.

here in our country, it is absolutely possible =)

No, unless an adult books the room and stays in the room with you.

depends on the motel. i think that some don't ask to see any ID.

I think so; as long as you have money to stay the night it should be alright.

i think you can
